Catalytic pyrolysis of olive oil residue to produce synthesis gas: the effect of bulk and nano metal oxides

In this study, olive oil residue (OR) biomass was pyrolyzed in the presence of bulk MgO (B-MgO), nano-MgO (N-MgO), ZnO (B-ZnO)), and nano-ZnO (N- ZnO) metal oxides at different temperatures (400, 600, 800 ºC). Significant results were obtained terms synthesis gas formation CO2 reduction. The efficiency distribution products as a result oxide-based pyrolysis process effects examined detail. Nanometal synthesized by hydrothermal method. Characterization carried out Brunauer?Emmett?Teller (BET), x-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis scanning-electron microscopy-energy dispersive (SEM-EDX) techniques. concentration OR detected via fluorescence (XRF) technique. Tar product properties evaluated chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS) Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analyzes. Analysis show that pyrolytic tar is very similar to diesel gasoline it contains significant concentrations aliphatic aromatic hydrocarbons composition. addition, composition noncondensable gaseous determined micro chromatography (micro-GC) analysis.
